Hot items for summer fun and every day use!

June 13th, 2008

It’s supposed to be a hot sunny weekend coming up and we have a lot of really cool items in the store for everyone to enjoy!

Buckaroos ran an ad in the Penny Saver and prices are good until Sunday, June 15th. They have everything from a dozen eggs for $1.00, Two rolls of Viva paper-towels for $1.00, Spring Water 25 oz. sport top bottles; four bottles for $1.00…..the low prices go on and on.

memorial-weekend-deals-002.jpgCrock Pot Indoor BBQ $29.00 - this is on special right now; the original price is $49.00; great for indoor cooking if it’s a little too hot this weekend! I know I told you all about this on Memorial Weekend; but at $29.00 I had to share this with you again!

Super Shooter Water Gun $12.00 - when I say super…I really mean SUPER! I just picked one up yesterday and I plan on using it this weekend at a family BBQ. It has a shoulder strap, 2 water canisters and an action pump. What’s better than a water fight on a hot day! It’s bigger than most water guns; so watch over the little ones!

beverage-jar.jpg5 Gallon Beverage Jar $24.00 -you can put any type of beverage in this 5 gallon glass jar; great for every day use and entertaining. Here’s a great tip for a simple drink- fill your jar up with sliced cucumbers, lemons and oranges; fill with ice and water and let sit; this makes the most refreshing drink ever and it’s easy!

Battle Splashers $10.00-These are great for pool fun; floating rafts with water guns attached to them. You can select either Sponge Bob or Spiderman.

scott-matis-001.jpgSanta Maria Ricotta & Spinach Ravioli 3lb bag $3.00 - I personally haven’t tried this one, but have tried similar brands and overall they’re great. The back of the bag also comes with recipe suggestions and you’re sure to get a couple of great meals out of this 3lb. bag.

Enjoy your weekend!

Start your Memorial Weekend off right!

May 23rd, 2008

The shopping party trend is catching on; Buck-A-Roo$ had a party for the  March of Dimes last weekend at both the Pico and Van Nuys store; the 15% cash back was tripled and given to the March of Dimes! This weekend Gault Elementary School is hosting a party to raise funds at the Van Nuys store. The principal distributed the fliers to all the parents a few times throughout the week and even came up with an incentive for the students to get their families in. I don’t know what more incentive you need than raising money for the school, but whatever works! If you are interested in hosting a party, contact Erin Mahoney @ (818)758-6500 ext. 33.

Memorial weekend is here; we all know what that means; family, friends and BBQ! There’s a lot of really great stuff @ Buck-A-Roo$ for this holiday weekend and I am going to share with you the best items to set your weekend off right!

Outdoor Living BBQOutdoor Living BBQ $10.00- this is a charcoal bbq and ”travel easy” if you are planning a bbq at the beach or the park!  There is some assembly required, but if I can do it, anyone can do it!

Siesta Mesquite Charcoal 7lb bag $4.00- what bbq doesn’t taste better with mesquite flavored charcoal!

memorial-weekend-deals-009.jpgmemorial-weekend-deals-004.jpg Outdoor Living  Veggie and Corn Grill basket (sold separately) $5.00 - Who doesn’t love grilled veggies and corn? With these grill baskets get a cleaner grill taste by eliminating the use of aluminum foil!

Outdoor Living Horseshoe Set $29.00 - This is great if you plan on spending your memorial weekend outside; either at home, at the beach or the park!

memorial-weekend-deals-001.jpg7lb bag of Ice $1.00- I know I already listed this previously, but I cannot get over that the ice at Buck-A-Roo$ is only $1.00.

THIS IS CRAZY!

May 9th, 2008

I thought 30% off last week was amazing; well starting May 15th until May 23rd; they are now running a 50% off sale. Bellflower will officially shut their doors on Friday May 23rd so get in while you still have time. The 50% off flyer will be distributed in the Penny Saver next week, but you can click here for your sneak peek.

mayparty.jpgThe Van Nuys Buck-A-Roo$hosted a successful shopping party of 20 guests on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. It was an amazing turn out; I have included a picture of the party guests. It looks like this will be a fast and growing trend. Since Bellflower lost their lease, the parties will only be held in Pico Rivera and in Van Nuys. Remember, along with the discounts and cash back, the store also provides gift bags and refreshments.

The hottest deals for this week are:

Cottonelle Toilet PaperCottonelle 12 Pack $6.00 - the 12 pack is equivalent to the 24 pack, all rolls are double in size. Who couldn’t use toilet paper :-)

Rubbermaid Storage Containers 18 Gallon $6.00 14 Gallon $5.00- These storage containers are the greatest invention and what a great price. They have a large quantity on hand and wow do these containers come in handy. Great place to store all your winter clothes to get ready for summer!

sunny-blog-pics-week-6-005.jpgInsta-Pasta Cooker $5.00 - yes, as seen on TV; I love this thing, my husband actually made me get one these (he loves gadgets) and I’m kind of glad he did. Fast, convenient and now I don’t have to bug him to drain the pasta pot :-)

Meow Mix Market Select Cat Food 2.75 oz. 5 for $1.00 - I personally don’t have a cat, but from what I’ve been told, this is a great deal.         White Turkey Deli Meat

Foster Farms White Turkey Deli Meat 20 oz. Package $1.50- I’m not kidding about the price, which is a great deal considering deli meat is over $3.00-$4.00 at all major grocery stores!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Bellflower Closeout Sale

May 3rd, 2008

Dear Buck-A-Roo$ Shoppers;

Yesterday when I sent my blog out I attached the wrong flyer. The Bellflower sale was supposed to start on May 7, 2008 but the flyer listed May 1, 2008. Because I sent the flyer out with May 1st posted, Buck-A-Roo$ is going to honor that date. So from now until May 31, 2008 you will receive 30% off ALL merchandise.

I apologize for any confusion.

Happy Shopping!

Sunny :-)

BIG NEWS!!!!

May 2nd, 2008

I recently found out that the Bellflower store will not be renewing their current lease. Apparently they could not negotiate a new lease that would allow them to continue giving us the lowest prices throughout the Southland so the CEO in the company chose not to renew it. What does this mean you ask???? The Bellflower store will be shutting their doors May 31, 2008 so starting May 7th they are having a HUGE blowout/closeout sale; everything is discounted by 30%. There will be an ad coming out in the Pennysaver announcing this sale, but I wanted to let you all know first, since you are a part of Sunny’s community :-) The other two stores located in Pico Rivera and Van Nuys are still there and going strong; I know they are looking to open more stores this year; so be on the lookout.

I wanted to let you all know again about the Buck-A-Roo$ Bash shopping parties; they seem to be a really big hit. I know Van Nuys has scheduled quite a few and it’s doing really well among local community clubs, schools, churches and charities; the host of the party is putting the 15% cash back they receive into their organization, I think it’s a brilliant way to raise money.

Here are your deals for this week:

4 Pack Arizona Ice Tea Energy Drink4 Pack Arizona Green Tea ENERGY drink $2.00- this is not just your run of the mill ice tea or energy drink; I typically do not like energy drinks because of the after taste, but I’m a little hooked on this stuff.

Hershey’s 100 calorie snacksters $1.49- No joke, these are amazing, even at 100 calories; you just have to limit yourself to 1 pack. There are 7 packs in a box and they have chocolate covered pretzel bars, a chocolate mix medley and peanut butter.       Hershey’s Brand Snacksters!

Assorted Hard Cover Books $2.00- The books are new, for $2.00; that’s unheard of. I will definitely pick up a few to read by the pool over the weekend!

Greeting Cards $1.00- All greeting cards in the store are $1.00; sunny-blog-pics-week-5-012.jpgwhich is great considering most stores sell them for over $3.00 a piece. There is a great selection of Birthday, Anniversary, Graduation and don’t forget…….MOTHER’S DAY!

Best Chef Sandwich Grill $10.00- This is a great little tool, especially when the kids have all their friends over after school and on the weekend. Get creative see what you can come up with and email me your recipe.

Ortega SalsaOrtega Salsa 2 Jars $3.00- Who doesn’t love Salsa; and 2 jars for $3.00 is a steal! Maybe someone can come up with a recipe using the Sandwich Grill and the Ortega Salsa!

Have a great weekend! Until next time…….

HOT DEALS FOR A HOT WEEKEND!

April 25th, 2008

It’s going to be a HOT one!

My first topic to bring to all of you is this new event that all 3 store locations are doing; BUCK-A-ROO$ BASH SHOPPING PARTIES! Let me explain; it’s similar to a Tupperware or jewelry party; but it’s held at your choice of Buck-A-Roo$ stores. You bring a minimum of 10 people (there is no maximum) and you shop; everyone in your party gets a gift bag, refreshments and 10% off their purchase. In addition, the host of the party gets 15% cash back on the total net sales of your party. What a great way to make extra money and raise money. I heard that a member of an elementary school PTA contacted the Van Nuys store about doing a shopping party. What’s more creative than a shopping party; the host can put the 15% cash back they receive into the school or another charity they are working with. I also heard through the grapevine that Julia Scott of the Daily News inquired with the store and is posting the store flyer in her blog, so the word is going to spread fast. I think I’ll book one before one of my friends or family members beat me to it J I will attach a link for you all to review the flyer for more information and contact details.

The weekend is supposed to be a hot, yet beautiful one; I found some great items to help you and the family through it!

Ultimate Popool.jpgol Challenge $10.00- it should be higher than 95 degrees this weekend; which is perfect for a day of sun and swimming.  I know I get tired of Marco Polo, Colors, Sharks and all the other games I try to invent; this obstacle course looks really cool and a lot of fun; for everyone.

Hawaiian Tropic Sun Block/Twin Pack- $3.00-if ozone.jpgyou are out in the sun this weekend; don’t forget your sun block…Buck-A-Roo$ has it! It’s the Hawaiian Tropic Ozone Sport, one bottle is 30 SPF and the other is 45+ SPF.

7lb. Bag of Ice $1.00- the store now has an ice machine and carries Ice. $1.00 is pretty cheap for the 7lb bag; might be the cheapest in town; I know Rite Aid has it for ice1.jpg$1.69 (plus tax) and Ralph’s  has it for $2.59, if you have the club card!

Ormsby Beach Towel $5.00- this towel runs 34”X64”, decent size beach towel, perfect for pool play or a day at the beach! There are different patterns and colors available.

Fresh Top Quality Seeds 5 packs for $1.00- if gardening is your think, why not pick up seeds for your veggies, flowers and plants at Buck-A-Roo$; 5 for $1.00 is a great deal!fan.jpg

Breezeway Pedestal Fan $15.00- if it is way too hot for you to be outside this weekend and our staying in, why grab a fan to stay cool and conserve energy at the same time! The fan is 16 inches in diameter, adjustable height from 43” to 54” and has 3 different speed controls.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend; until next time!

Sunny :-)

SPRING FEVER!

April 18th, 2008

Hey everyone . . . I’m still at it and going strong. I have some great deals to tell you about this week along with a space contest and some community news to share.

We are holding a my space referral contest! First, you have to make sure you are a friend on our page; to do that, visit us at www.myspace.com/buckaroos_stores once you are our friend, you are eligible to win the contest. I am looking to spread the word about Buck-A-Roo$ to everyone I possibly can in California. The person that gets us the most “friend requests” will win a $50.00 gift certificate to Buck-A-Roo$; and if you?re a Buck-A-Roo$ shopper, you know that goes a long way! When referring your friends to us; you need to make sure the people you refer reside in California and they need to make sure that they include your My Space display name as it appears on your page in the message box of the friend request; that is the only way we know you referred them!!!!!  Good Luck! The winner will be announced both on My Space and in the weekly blog on Friday, May 16th. Winner will be notified via email and on My Space!

I received an email from Barbara Winkler; she is a member of the QOV (Quilts of Valor) Foundation. They are volunteers that make quilts for our wounded men and women who serve in the US Military. They are looking for people to volunteer their time in to make blocks for quilts, make donations and participate in their workshops. For more information on their foundation and their workshop events you can visit their website @ www.qovf.org.

SPRING DEALS!!!!

Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away and I found some really cute stuff @ Buck-A-Roo$.

Holly Surya Bamboo Clutch Purse for only $6.00. It’s natural bamboo, hand woven and right now you can get it with bamboo/pink or bamboo/green.  The bags are great for spring and summer; they normally run about $20.00.

Mossimo spring/summer dresses only $5.00! You can?t get any better than that. I believe these were excess at Target and Buck-A-Roo$ picked them up. There are both floral and solid dresses in an array of colors.

Polaris Wood Clocks - $9.00; makes a great gift or addition to any house.

Waffle Maker - $14.00. I’m not necessarily saying to pick one up for your mom for Mother’s Day, my mom hated getting “household” item type gifts; it always meant more work for her. You can always pick one up to cook your mom breakfast or throw a brunch in her honor; that is always special . . . if you know how to cook.

Old Williamsburg Pillar Candles - $1.00; now who doesn?t love a great smelling candle, especially one that burns for up to 30 hours! Available in a few different scents; I found pound cake (which was awesome) vanilla and cucumber/melon.

Gift Bags - $1.00 and I don’t mean for the small ones. Gift bags lately seem to be pretty expensive which is horrible for me personally because I am terrible at gift wrapping so I always resort to stuffing gift bags!  I found some really great large ones for $1.00.

Hot Deals for Mid-April!

April 12th, 2008

This is the second week I’ve been up and I have to say, I’ve had a great response so far! I’m enjoying the feedback, the recipes and community news I’ve received. I look forward to so much more; so don’t be shy! Remember email me at: customeradvocate@buckaroos-stores.com to submit community news, a great story, comments, questions, hot deals, great recipes; I’m open to anything fantastic that is worth sharing!

Buck-A-Roo$ just posted that they are changing the store hours effective Saturday, April 12, 2008. The new store hours are Monday-Saturday 9:00am-8:00pm and on Sunday from 9:00am-7:00pm. That seems to be the standard hours for most retailers.

I found some really great deals this week!

Buck-A-Roo$ has a dozen of large eggs for only $2.00.; has anyone else noticed the huge increase in the cost with major supermarkets, this is a steal.

Brawny paper towels for $1.00; now I know we can all go out Brawny Towselsand buy a generic brand for less than a buck, but realistically, the generic brands are as low in quality as they are in price, we use a lot more in a shorter period of time so if you think about it, technically we’re probably paying more in the long run.

General Mills Oatmeal Crisp Cereal; get this…. a 17.1 oz box for $2.00. You NEVER see great cereal at that price. Cereal is Oat Meal Crispsthe one item that is always so over priced $4.00 and $5.00 a box; I mean I love cereal as much as the next person, but I am not willing to pay more for cereal than a gallon of gas. I guess at Buck-A-Roo$ I won’t have to! (They also have some other great cereals that range from $1.00-$2.00 the Oatmeal Crisp just happens to be one of my favorites)

Nature Mist shower head (extra large) for $19.99! I have to tell you, I purchased one of Shower headthese shower heads for my home and I think it’s fantastic; however…you need to make sure that you have a good amount of water pressure already otherwise it won’t make any kind of difference; in fact it could make your pressure worse. I think some people are under the impression that a bigger and better shower head will make your water pressure stronger and the fact of the matter is it doesn’t.

Don’t forget to visit me at www.myspace.com/buckaroos_stores

Have a great week!
